5 Best Wall Decorating Ideas

A lot of people wonder how to decorate their walls.  Here are my top 5 favorite room decorating ideas for quick and simple wall decor.
Wall Decorating Idea #5: Poster Art
Wall Decorating Ideas

Poster Art from Allposters.com

What to do: This idea is similar to hanging art on your wall, only cheaper!  Posters often only cost around $1-$20 and you can buy beautiful ones online or in stores.  Just buy a poster that looks like artwork and put it in a nice frame.  You instantly add decor and personality to your walls.

Why it’s great: This room decorating idea is not only cheap, but it’s easy to do.  Posters come in all different styles, colors, themes and patters so you will definitely find designs that will match your personal taste and your room’s decor.  The best thing about framing poster art, is that it looks like real art!

Wall Decorating Idea #4: Hanging Plates

What to do: Hanging plates can make lovely wall decor.  Choose a bunch of plates that you’d like to hang up.  You may have some at home, or you might want to purchase a few inexpensive plates to match what you already have.  First arrange the plates on a table or a large piece of paper in order to experiment with different arrangements.  Decide where you would like to hang the plates and then purchase “plate hangers” from any store that sells hooks (Taget, Walmart etc.).
Why it’s great: Many people have decorative plates in their home anyways that they are not using.  This is another wall decorating idea that anyone can do and it doesn’t take a lot of time.  Also, combining different plates can make a beautiful collage of colors and be used as a stunning focal point in any room.

Wall Decorating Idea #3: Fabric Panels

Wall Decorating Ideas
What to do: Fabric panels make beautiful wall decorations.  All you need are pieces of foam, double sided tape and adhesive wall putty.  Cut squares of foam (as many as you want) and then cut your fabric a little more than an inch larger than the peices of foam (you will want to fold a bit over the backside of the foam square).  Simply tape the fabric onto the foam and press down hard.  With adhesive wall putty you can stick your fabric pieces to the wall without making holes.
Why it’s great: Not only is this project quick easy to do, but it is certainly inexpensive! What’s even better is that most people have pieces of fabric lying around the house that they don’t know what to do with.  You can use all different types of pretty fabric for this project: old tablecloths, pillow cases or even pretty tea towels.  If you don’t have any fabric lying around the house, go to the fabric store and pick some out.  Most fabric stores have a clearance section where you can find great pieces for only a few dollars.
Wall Decorating Idea #2: Frames.
What to do: Everyone knows that picture frames make any piece of art look complete.  But frames have so many uses…and they can even be wall decor themselves! Find funky frames at flea markets or garage sales.  Take a frame that you don’t like so much and paint it a bright color.  Combine frames of different sizes.  They make great wall decorations! In addition, many objects look stunning in a frame such as: tea towels, magazine cutouts, old coasters and greeting cards!
Why it’s great: Most people have old frames lying around.  If you don’t, you can find great deals on interesting frames at garage sales and flea markets. Most importantly, you are sure to find something lying around your house that would look wonderful in a picture frame!  Be creative!

Wall Decorating Idea #1: Wall Stickers
What to do: Find wall stickers that you like, purchase and stick!
Why it’s great: What can be easier than wall stickers? Painting and stenciling is wonderful, but it takes time and energy. Wall stickers add tons of decor to any room with absolutely minimal effort.  You can find some great wall stickers online for good prices and have them shipped to your home.

I have to agree with you on the wall stickers. The market for indoor decals has sky rocketed since the recent U.S recession. Its a quick and easy way to give a room a new feel without loosing feeling in your pocket. :)
